Trixie did well in her sleepover at the hospital. She was impressing everyone with her eager attitude for eating and ability to walk on her remaining legs.
She was so excited when i picked her up. She was definitely ready to come home. They said she was barking at them shortly before i arrived.
Her meds are working well to manage her pain so far and she is home resting with her two favorite people.
She did excellent during her surgery and is so far doing well with post op recovery. She is already walking great on her 3 legs and eating really well. 🥰
Our dog Trixie is currently in surgery as I type this to have her front right leg amputated. She was not supposed to have surgery until may 16th, but they had a cancelation and could get her in sooner.
She is a 15 yr old Poodle Chihuahua and was diagnosed w a soft tissue sarcoma on her leg in February. We were holding off on doing an amputation to see how things went. The lumpy, Voldemort ( we named him) had two ruptures on Saturday and we called the vet and decided to have the surgery. We didnt think she should be suffering in pain with this any longer. Shes still got some life left, so we knew it wasnt time to cross the bridge yet. So an amputation was the best option.
